Ford F3 pickup thermostat modification

Local chap has a ford F3 pickup and has added a radiator fan but was unable to source a switch as the threads in the stat housing were oddball.

He popped in to the workshop and discussed the problem and how he thought to sort it out. As the plan was good we set about the stat housing on the milling machine and opened up the existing threads to m22 x 1.5.
